Methodology
A group of MMU students randomly selected from different years and faculty, comprising of 50 students are requested to provide their opinion on identifying the factors that lead to the continuity existence of pirated movies in Malaysia. Within the group there were 50 students from four different academic departments –engineering, creative multimedia, IT and management. The subjects were selected from different academic years and faculty of the Multimedia University, Cyberjaya campus in the year 2010.
The selection that was made consists of male and female regardless of race, religion and culture and the age was within the range of having the ability to decide on their own expenditure. This criterion was employed to ensure competent understanding of the issue and to obtain more accurate information that is best in explaining the issue.
The test instrument employed in this study was a few articles related to the issue of pirated movies in Malaysia and reviews written out by our group members. Questions in the questionnaire will be written out based on the references taken online newspaper relating to the subject or articles that have been search from the internet. It usually consists of official calculations report findings made by government body or any other professional association regarding the issue.
Every person from the group was given a questionnaire which consists of 20 questions related to pirated movies industry in Malaysia. The questionnaire will be distributed to 50 persons in the way of printed question form or through email which the results will be send back to the report group members. 1 or 2 person will be in charge as an examiner to examine and collect the data and information obtained from the questionnaire session that lasted for about 3 days. The examiner will explained to every student about the main purpose and the target of the report and that their answer for each question will be collect and calculate to show the percentage of the majority opinion on the issue. All sessions were saved in the computer and later printed out for easy data analyze and presentation.
